Nelson's Auto Sales is a small family-owned used car lot. We've been in business since July, 1998.
Rick and Connie Nelson are the sole proprietors. We have two terrific daughters, Amy and Sarah.
Rick's philosophy on selling cars...
A few years ago, I was at a large car dealership in Des Moines looking at a used car. The salesman
that came out to talk to me told me that this was his first week on the job. He said for the previous
seven years, he had worked at a waterbed store, selling waterbeds. I thought to myself, "this isn't a
car guy, he's just a salesman who happens to be selling cars".
Well, I'm not a salesman. I'm just a car guy who loves
cars. I was raised around cars. While growing up, my dad was always taking me to car shows and
car races. Now I live, eat and breathe cars (especially Fords and Mercurys). I also love adding
cars to my Ford/Mercury car collection, and watching my daughter race her car at area dirt tracks.
There's not too many
weekends throughout the year that I'm not at a car show, race, or car parts swap meet.
The moral of my story is that I'm not some high pressure salesperson. I'm just a car guy that
tries to treat everybody like I'd like to be treated - fairly and honestly, no hassle, no pressure.
